Hurricane Francis – 2004
Well, this weekend was interesting with the arrival of hurricane Francis. So much anticipation as the storm creeped up and across the Bahamas late last week. We got off work early Thursday to prepare for the storm, putting up hurricane shutters and stocking up on food and water.
Lucky for us, the category 4 storm fell flat a few hundred miles short of the Florida coast. So, in the end, we got the clean (south) side of the hurricane as it hit West Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie the hardest, leaving us with some nasty wind and ripping down lots of trees, including one in our yard.
Now we've just got to watch out for hurricane Ivan, approaching along a similar path, due here late next weekend!
