Albert Comstock Kahler III (1951)

Albert Comstock III was born in East Islip, Long Island, New York on June 10th, 1951. He was the first child of Albert Comstock Kahler Jr. (1925-1986) and Norma Augusta Wortmann (1926). Early on, he received the nickname of Skip, in reference to his father who was a Ferry Boat Captain. Skip had both a younger brother, David Bruce (1952), and sister, Nancy Alicia (1959-1978).

Skip went to college at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. He married his college sweetheart, Sarah Alexina Harris (1950) on June 3rd, 1972 in her hometown of Bridgeville, Delaware. Skip received both his Master's Degree and Doctorate in Nuclear Physics from the University of Tennessee.

Their first child, Albert Comstock IV (1977), was born while living in Tennessee, however, they moved to College Station, Texas in 1978, following his graduation from UT. In 1981 they settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and had two more children, Scott Ashby (1952) and (Tricia) Trudie Alicia (1986).

Skip worked at Bettis Atomic Laboratory in Pennsylvania from 1981 until 2005. In the summer of 2005, he and Sallie moved to Los Alamos, NM with Skip accepting a job at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
